What do you want the world to know? That’s the central question asked when you are creating a public service announcement (PSA), which is any message promoting programs, activities or services of federal, state or local governments or the programs, activities or services of non-profit organizations (
World Education has a long history of successfully working with local partners to design, manage, and evaluate community-based initiatives to advance the conditions of girls and women. Here i choose this PSA to reflect the phenomenon. With the development of science and technology, economic, generally speaking, nowadays women’s status has been improved and there are more and more women having high academic qualifications. Under such situation, some poor and remote areas are disregardful. For example, before i have written a discussion about the film Desert Flower which reflects a cruel phenomenon, these women in that place can not accept education and they will be forced to accept arranged marriage. More seriously, when they are young they will have to face the fact of circumcision which may lead to their death. So we have to know not all women in the world have the right to accept education, in poor areas, because of lacking of education, there will be a vicious circle. In this way, PSA for women’s education is quite important.
I tried to highlight the importance of this issue by showing these pictures, after all, images as visual clue will have a better effect to attract audience’s eys. World Education believes that education for girls and women is the single most effective way to improve the lives of individual families as well as to bring economic development to poor communities worldwide (world education). Here my audience will be the general public. I hope PSA for the women’s education will catch people’s eyes around the world. Then these problems will be attached importance to. For improving educational opportunities for women, this can’t do without the help pf government and world’s organizations.
I express the my idea by choosing the medium of a quilt. Showing these pictures will help audience have a better understanding for the PSA. Through this way, the problems of women’s education should be paid attention to and meanwhile there must be corresponding measure to solve this problem and help these women in poor areas.
